Stuarts Draft Rescue Squad will be giving free Community CPR classes. The
classes will be held on Saturday, June 28th. There will be 4 classes
starting at 9:00 am, 12:00 noon, 3:00 pm, and 6:00 pm. The class takes 98
minutes. All classes are free to anyone attending.
Community CPR is an American Heart Association “hands on” CPR with no mouth
to mouth or any other type of rescue breathing. The course will cover both
adult and pediatric CPR as well as how to treat someone choking.
This class is being given to help bring attention to the importance
of immediately starting CPR when someone goes into cardiac arrest. In the
past several months we have had two cardiac arrests which were successfully
resuscitated. In both cases, CPR was immediately started by a family member.
Hershey Chocolate of Virginia and Central Shenandoah Emergency
Medical Services are helping to sponsor this event.
To sign up for a class, call 337-2528, or 460-8506 or email your name, phone
number and class time requested to firstname.lastname@example.org.
